Cycling helps in aging deceleration 🚴🚡 ( updated on 5th Feb 2022)

1) Dirk Liman , 77 yrs old. ( as at year 2020)
My German cycling buddy Dirk Limann , age 77 , had surprised me in joining our Tanjung Sepat Ride last year, 2 day 1 night with 130km each day.  A very disciplined German that train his cycling stamina regularly and always hv sufficient rest , nap and sleeping hours whenever travel with us.  While I set my cycling distance target to be 4500km per year, he has been achieving  10 thousand kilometers each year. Below is Dirk 's 30 years cycling distance trend chart .  This is a better measurements than the average walking steps per year simply because it involves cardio heart pumping. I'm just too far away from this target zone unfortunately πŸ˜….

Dirk has no sickness like heart disease, dementia, diabetes.....at this age.   There are many write-up about reverse aging in cycling and I kind of believe it now , looking at Dirk Limann 's amazing living journey.  His diet guidelines are  either meals with carbo and veggies or meat with veggies.  He doesn't take meals where carbo, meat and veggies mixed together.  Liquor wise , moderate beer and nowadays , red wine also as per my advice due to the high antioxidants agent - Resveratrol.

Look at Dirk, never felt exhausted after reaching Tj Sepat, 130km. 


Always hv a small celebration of beer before continuing another 130km again the next day.  


He loves epic ride journey just like me.  


Dirk Limann was using a 20 years old full suspension bike , heavier than ours certainly , and that could probably explained why he is so fit. I hv booked this antique bike from Dirk whenever he decided to switch to a new bike in future 😝.


Apart from cycling, Dirk does bring us around Malacca old town , those back alley lane and tell us a lot of history and also about his early days with his Malaysian wife Jenny Loo Limann . Pic showed Jenny's parents house in the old town temple street .

many more places that he brought us through all the kampong lanes which he had spent years in getting all the Malacca kampong lanes connected comprehensively.  I called his kampong lane network as spider web .  Below is his spider web in Malacca, very well connected in all the kampong road.  They are mostly car free road and best for cycling.  This spider web is creeping wider , crossing into Negeri Sembilan and Johor state.  Amazing piece of work !

Apart from Malacca, he also has Europe 's spider web, linking all the villages road mostly.

 I haven't seen anyone  possessed such a comprehensive cycling lane network.   Truly an impressive work from Dirk Limann.    Is winter time too difficult to cycle?    See photo below, temperature at zero degree Celsius, Dirk still ensure his heart being pumped.

2) Robert Loh, 77 yrs old. (As at year 2020)

Another cyclist that I respect a lot is Uncle Robert Loh a.k.a LobertChai  who is also 77 years old. 

Uncle Robert Loh , green Jersey guy, was 73 yrs old when I hv an opportunity to cycle with him in Pusing Papan , Ipoh, 4 years ago ( September 2016 ). 

Uncle Robert Loh , always a friendly and happy person 😊. 

Uncle Robert , March 2020 , at the age of 77 yrs old is lookingso fit still . Note,  he only does mountain biking,  no road bike or touring bike.

3) Norman celebrated his 100th year old ( as at year 2022)

☝ Norman, 100th years old,  cycled 8,000 kilometers per year.    Definitely a benchmark for all of us .

4)To all the retired people or seniors, take up cycling, walking or hiking or any outdoor activities if you can.   These are the sports that pump your heart regularly in making sure you hv the lowest arteries blockage whenever possible.   Hv a healthy diet , sleep adequately, gym workout and exercise regularly ya πŸ€œπŸ€›πŸ€˜πŸ€
